The boats that annually receive the award are inspected frequently and must meet specific criteria in the areas of safety, services, environmental management and waste-free waters. They must carry out environmental education activities and involve the community.

Las embarcaciones turísticas que recibe anualmente el premio son inspeccionadas con frecuencia y deben cumplir con criterios específicos en las áreas de: seguridad, servicios, manejo ambiental y aguas libres de desperdicios. También, deben realizar actividades de educación ambiental e involucrar a la comunidad.
